Next week I start the 8:00 shift. I’m so looking forward to that. Normal work hours 8 to 4:30 Monday thru Friday. No more going to bed at 8:00 at night and getting up at 4:30 in the morning.
Today was Theme Day for work. Each team chose a theme and we dressed accordingly. Our team chose International. We had a matador and a Hasidic Jew when he was wearing his hair and hat. When he wasn’t he was Harry Potter sans scar. One of the other teams was the 60’s and there was a lot of tie dye and headbands. Another team had a movie them. I saw a toga and if you can’t think of the movie think of John Balushi. There was also a pretty good Captain Jack Sparrow in the Learning Lab. Surprise the center brought in pizza for all.
I keep forgetting I have this thing. Maybe I can tie a string around my neck and remember.
The Kid is visiting with his dad so I’ve kind of got the house all to myself. Well there’s the Boarder and his dog, Domino and Shorty and the Cat. However it is quiet right now and I’m trying to get a little housework done. Doing laundry and trying to figure out what to wear for work tomorrow. It’s a Theme Day and we decided on International. So I have some things that might pass for Japanese but not too much. I guess I’ll figure it out tomorrow morning.
Gabertino’s was probably the best Italian restaurant in Pocatello. When we moved back I was looking forward to the soup and the ravioli but Gabertino’s is no more. I was just going through some of my Mom’s old recipe’s and much to my surprise and delight, there was a recipe for Gabertino’s Soup. I’m sure this wasn’t how they made it, but it did make for a delicious soup.
1 bunch of brocoli
1 head of cauliflower
1 bunch celery
sliced carrots to taste (I used baby carrots and kept them whole)
Chopped green onions (tops only except I just kept on chopping and used the green as well)
Steam all of the above
Add
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can of cream of mushroom soup (I used the cream of mushroom and roasted garlic)
2 cups sliced mushrooms (or another can of cream of mushroom soup)
2 cups of milk
salt and pepper to taste.
Very good soup.
Took all day but I finally made Level 62 on my second Death Knight.
Well managed to stay all day at work today. Day was kind of a mess though. I only had four callbacks scheduled and I didn’t get them done until about 30 minutes before I left this afternoon. I had a couple of hours training to take which just ruined my schedule and, as usual, I didn’t know I had to attend this training class until I got to work. Then after the training I had to take my lunch. Got back upstairs and a half hour later I had to take my last break. Then I only had 45 minutes left in the day. But hey, my overtime was approved for the next couple of weeks.
I did get a headache around noon and it’s just gotten worse as the day progressed. I’m going to take some of my meds, go to bed, and hope that the headache is gone in the morning. Sears is coming out to fix our dryer. If they can’t fix it, they replace it. Thank goodness for these Master Protection Guarantees.
Well it’s off to work. I’ll be lucky to stay awake. I had to pick up the Kid at 10:00 last night from his job and I didn’t fall asleep until after midnight. Five hours sleep just isn’t enough for these old bones.
I wonder if I’ll be able to stay the whole day today. I haven’t worked a full day all week. Getting off early today wouldn’t be such a bad thing. I could come home and take a nap.
I cannot believe this. I kept a backup of my old WordPress blog that I made just before the hammer fell and now I can’t find it. I guess I should just be thankful that I’m back online.
